Why I Chose Storytelling Over Everything

“There was a time when I thought I needed to pick one thing – design, film, photography. But then I realized, I'm not a specialist. I'm a storyteller. And stories need all the tools.”

There was a time when I thought I needed to pick one thing.

Design or film? Photography or writing? Motion or stillness? Everyone kept telling me to specialize, to find my niche, to become 'known' for something specific.

But here's what I've realized – I'm not a specialist. I'm a storyteller. And stories need all the tools.

A story might need the stillness of a photograph. Or the movement of film. Or the rhythm of words on a page. Or the flow of motion graphics. Sometimes it needs all of them at once.

Instead of limiting myself to one medium, I've embraced them all. Not as separate disciplines, but as different brushes in the same palette. Different notes in the same song.

This wasn't an easy realization. For years, I felt scattered. Unfocused. Like I was failing at everything by not committing to one thing.

But then I understood – my superpower isn't any single skill. It's the ability to weave them together. To see how a photo can become a film can become a story can become an experience.

So if you're out there, feeling confused about your path, feeling like you're doing too many things at once – maybe you're not scattered. Maybe you're just a storyteller who hasn't found their story yet.

Keep exploring. Your story is waiting.
