Aethel — Carbon-Fiber Monocoque Folding Guitar
Music Without Geographic Limits

Design Thinking & System Architecture
Full-scale acoustic guitars are fragile, bulky, susceptible to weather damage, and routinely refused by airline carry-on policies.
Musicians refuse portable guitars because folding joints traditionally deaden soundboard resonance and throw string tension out of tune.
Engineered a cantilevered tension-retention hinge with carbon-fiber monocoque body, maintaining string pitch while collapsing into backpack volume.
Detailed CAD assembly, dual-pivot neck locking mechanism, internal acoustic sound-port chamber, and modular neck alignment.
Tactile interaction design: intuitive 5-second one-click fold/unfold locking latch requiring no tools or restringing.
Tested with touring session guitarists, recording studio acoustic tests, and rugged travel durability simulations.
